Technical Specifications

Teledoors are designed and manufactured in a wide range of sizes, from an 8' x 7' door to a 30' x 24' door. Other sizes can be provided to suit specialized requirements. Consult your Teledoor representative for availability.

High-quality materials for long service life

Materials for door sections are galvanized steel, embossed surface, with baked enamel prime and finish coats. Side guides and header boxes are heavy steel, prime painted.

Standard and special colors

Door sections are finished standard with an acrylic-type finish coating in a choice of seven different colors. Special colors are available upon request.

Reliable controls

The standard operating control circuit is 24 volts to a push-button station with three buttons to initiate opening and closing action and to stop the door at any point in travel. Built-in adjustable limit controls are provided to automatically disconnect power to the door operator at fully open or closed positions. Additional safety limit switches in the header provide protection against damage in the event of over-travel or a break in the lifting cable. Built-in, pressure sensitive controls in the bottom panel reverse the door on contact with an obstacle. The door operator is adaptable to any type of remote control.

Motorized door operator

Standard power operator includes a totally enclosed motor, operating at 460 or 230 volts, 60Hz, three-phase power with a 24-volt control circuit. Other power combinations are also available.

Opening speeds

Standard opening speed is 40' per minute, 0.67' per second on the single speed Teledoor WH. Opening speed up to 40 inches per second is available on the variable/high speed Teledoor RH.

Locking mechanism

Bolt-type locking device engages in both side guides; locks and unlocks automatically.

Vision panels

Strong, waterproof, transparent plastic vision panels, 12" x 8", can be furnished in one or more door sections, if required.

Fire rating (optional)

Teledoors, in sizes up to 112 sq. ft., are available with a Class “B” 11/2-hour Underwriters’ Label. A 100% fire rating may be obtained if the door width does not exceed 12'0", and the door height does not exceed 9'4".

These doors may, however, be manufactured in strict conformance with Underwriters’ Specifications for larger openings up to 14'0" wide and 25'6" high. We furnish such doors with an Underwriters’ Certificate, rather than an Underwriters' Label.

These doors offer substantial protection from fire and also help lower building insurance costs.
